Making mistake is not bad,
yet it is bad to hide them by telling lies. People tell lies because they fear
the consequences of telling truth. However, it has bad effects of telling lies
to other for our life.
Telling lies have bad effects for our healthy. The first, when we tell untruth, it produces inner conflicts between various control centers of the brain. The moment one begins to lie, their body shows contradictory signals to cause facial muscle twitching, expansion and contraction of pupils, perspiration, flushing of cheeks, increase eye blinking, tremor of the hand and rapid heart rate. Second, telling a lie also produces physical as well as mental effects. The anxiety leads to the release of excess cortisol hormone which further reduces the production of endorphins (the hormone that promotes happiness). The increased production of cortisol has also been linked to the formation of ulcers. Norepinephrine (a hormone secreted by the adrenal gland) starts the body's "fight or flight" response which increases the heart rate. This is turn, elevates the blood pressure. And the last, if you have told a lie, this is the first step to depression and can result into major physical and mental complications in the future.
Telling lies also influence for our relationship, with your partner even though your friends and family. It also burdens your socially as you feel that you have sabotaged your relationship with your loved ones by lying to them. This puts you in a state of stress which is an add-on to your day-to-day stress of deadlines, office work and house work. Some people also experience low self esteem as they feel that their integrity has been compromised.
According to holistic practitioners, lying is an addiction act. When we lie for one thing, certainly we will create more falseness again to close the untruth before. You have to know that continuous lying can lead to anxiety, depression, physiological as well as psychological illnesses.
For mosleem especially, lie is a sin. Our religion remind us to tell the truth, although there’s time that we are allowed to tell lie in some condition. As the command in the Qur'an, says: "O you who believe! Be careful of (your duty to) Allah and be with the true ones." (9:119).
Well, telling a mistake that have we done before was so hard, yet we still try to tell a truth. Because honesty is the best policy and you would earn a reputation as an honest person.
